I will keep these shoes and hope the issues I have will be resolved after a few wearings. They seem stiff and the actual opening a bit narrow making it a battle to get them on. Once on they were comfortable wearing around the house for a short time. I will continue to break them in wearing in the house as it is still too cold to wear them outside. I will update my review in a few months if allowe

I have very wide feet/narrow heels/flat arches. This Teva style is the shoe I wear almost every day. Very durable! Tried some other Teva styles; did not work for me.

“Would this shoe be suitable for water aerobics? Wondering how it might hold up in the pool's chlorine....”

No it would be to heavy, this is a hiking shoe and kayak shoe.

Answer
Kate, I think it w/be too heavy once full of water in the pool - unless u want the extra resistance ...

Answer
I have not worn these in chlorinated pools, but in fresh water and salt water. I think salt water is pretty caustic on footwear, don't you? If that is so, then they should be just as durable for water aerobics. And the prices are so great at Sierra Trading, you can buy two pairs for the retail price of one easy!

Question
“I bought a pair of KEEN (women) WHISPER sandals 8.5 which is similar to this Teva style. I found it too be a bit too small. Is anyone able to tell me how an 8.5 in this Teva style compares to the KEEN whisper in size. Is this Teva stightly longer.”

Answer
A US 8 is a Euro 39 or UK 6.5 if that helps.

Answer
No, a shoe size 8 in Australian sizes would be the equivalent of a size 9 1/2 in women's sizes in both the U.S. and Canada.

Question
“I can't tell from the pic of this shoe is totally open on the back.|I'd really like to see a back view of this. I have to wear an orthotic insert, and this will only work with enough backing.”
Asked on 3/8/2010 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
Answer
There is a portion that goes down in the back, but it is not totally enclosed as there are two vents on either side of it. It should be enough to allow an orthotic in though.
Answered on 3/10/2010 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
Answer
It's partially open in the back, as the strap does go around the back of the ankle. I don't know what type of orthotic you have and what you need to make it work. I use a taco for arch support, and I don't believe I had the ability to use it with this sandal. It is a masculine, sturdy shoe.

Answer
The back of this shoe is not totally open. There's a shank up the back that the velcro goes on the outside of.

Answer
I wear it with orthotics. It is closed back with two cut-outs
Answered on 4/25/2010 12:00:00 AM by Rusty Shackleford from Texas
Answer
The shoe is not totally open in the back. There is backing in the center of the heel with two small openings on the side. If you look at the 'top view' the backing goes all the way down minus the two holes you see in the picture.

Question
“Hi, me again! I notice this is now available in my usual sneaker size (but probably will be sold out by the time I make a decision to buy these or not!). Can anyone please advise, is it best to buy this particular shoe in your usual SNEAKER size?”
Asked on 12/22/2009 12:00:00 AM by Rachael from New Zealand
Answer
These sandals are true to size. I would not recommend going up or down a size. You can wear these with or without socks.
Answered on 12/23/2009 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
Answer
I ordered this shoe in my regular shoe size and it fits fine even with a sock. Length is true to size and it has an adjustable width.|I have a narrow foot but I think it would work for a wider foot as well. Hope you can still order your size. The color combo is perfect for wearing with blue jeans.
