This shoes has a very low instep.
Split between toes is lycra like -- lets in cold water and fails to protect your feet.
A interesting collection of weeds, sticks and other items love to wedge into the split toe when ever you go into the woods for scouting, etc.
Poor choice for whitewater -- maybe okay at the lake.

bought these shoes last year. went white water rafting on the american river. using them this year for kayaking and river rafting. I have found them to be difficult to put on, but they stay on. Am female and bought size 6 for my 7 to 7.5 wide foot. The pricing is excellent, and I like the spit toe, since I wear flip flops daily.

This is an awesome river shoe! The only real problem with it is the split toe. Some people may not be able to get over it as a comfort factor. For me its fine. The issue is the material in between the toe is thin and will wear out very quickly.

I've white-water rafted but am new to kayaking. These seem to work well for me, they stay on and protect my feet. They are difficult to put on. They seem well constructed and should last for many trips. Have used them one time.[...]

Fits my 9 1/2 half feet like a glove, and the split toe design feels more natural than the typical bootie shoes out there. The teva logos on the top wore off after 3 trips, which was okay since I think they look better without them. Size up if you plan on wearing booties as well, these things fit snug. I had one of the triangle drains come off on the fifth trip. Still wearing them until I can get a pair of the new Avators.

Truthfully, I didn't get them on to try them out. My 99% shoe size is 11.5, but with fairly thick ankles, I wasn't able to get into these to give a fair evaluation, and 11.5 was the largest available size at the time. They are snug up top, as they should be, just too snug for my big ankles. They look like they'll work great, but you'll have to try them on to see if they fit in the ankle as well as the foot.

I have a very typical size 12 foot, These shoes are almost impossible to get on. The problem is not the size - once on they fit OK though uncomfortable. The problem is they are way to small accross the top of the arch of my foot. A size 13 was a little better, but then the shoe was too long and loose. I sent them back.
