5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent shoeVerified Buyer Reviewed by J.K. Johnson from Bloomington, IN on Wednesday, October 29, 2014The shoes felt good right out of the box. They are a little lighter than I expected. I thought it might be a little clunky/heavy but I like the weight and feel. I really like the tread. It is aggressive but has a little give and will provide excellent traction on a variety of surfaces. The fit seems fitted to me. Sometimes when I buy shoes in my size they feel a little big but these seem to fit me well.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Great shoes but too smallVerified Buyer Reviewed by Happy in MN from Minnesota on Monday, September 22, 2014These shoes are well constructed and seem like they would be great shoes, but are about a size smaller than the actual size. Would have been thrilled to exchange them for the next size up, but none were available

5.0 out of 5 stars. Teva Riva eVent Trail shoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Sicily on Saturday, August 2, 2014These shoes are just the ticket: good looking enough to pass for "casual or better" dress, light weight and waterproof. They have already served me well walking all over Europe. They are light weight enough to pack and carry easily in a backpack or to wear on long hikes. Good price too.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent all-around shoeReviewed by nick from Tahoe on Wednesday, July 30, 2014I bought this shoe to be my go-to for field work, hiking, and light backpacking in the Sierra Nevada and so far it's performed flawlessly. Breaks in after only a day or two of wear in the field and is rugged enough for off-trail forestry work and scrambling up granite talus. The fit was spot-on for me. The best part about these shoes is that they also look great with jeans for the bar or whatever else. I think I might buy a second pair!

3.0 out of 5 stars. Nice shoes, but they run small.Reviewed by Cristae Li from Bloomington, IN on Thursday, July 17, 2014These shoes are very well made and have excellent quality leather! They do run small though. Normally a 40 euro or 7.5 US. I ordered an 8 to have plenty of room for hiking socks but they were too small even with business socks. Additionally, they made my feet look extremely small! Its the dark color at the tip, but not very flattering in general for small feet.

4.0 out of 5 stars. not good for Hot WeatherVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from New J on Friday, May 16, 2014So if you live in a warm climate i would not recommend these shoes unless you dont sweat very much when you hike. Otherwise they are probably one of the best hiking shoes i have had in a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars. good comfort and looksVerified Buyer Reviewed by texhowdy from Santa Fe,NM on Saturday, May 10, 2014I have a similar pair of Tevas with mesh sides. These are a little more dressy and will work well for travel. The leather is very supple so the shoes are comfortable right out of the box. The only exception was the back of the heel on the left shoe was digging in a little. I have worked to loosen it up and it feels fine now. Plenty of room in the forefoot for a solid ride.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Disappointed with the uppersVerified Buyer Reviewed by Hill Billy from Washington on Wednesday, April 9, 2014I loved the soles, but found the uppers to be less sturdy than I had anticipated/hoped for after reading other reviews. Also, they run small and my toes was rubbing so I sent them back and ordered a Gregory pack!

4.0 out of 5 stars. old man and the hiking shoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Old man from wine country calif on Tuesday, April 8, 2014Well kids these probably are your grandpa's hiking shoes because back in the day a really good hiking shoe hurt like hell for the break in period. Right out of the box the Tevas and I had a love hate relationship. The fit-I loved, the tread-I loved, the lacing system-I loved, the looks-I loved, the shoes embrace around below my ankle bone and the stiffness of the tongue-I hated. The leather in these places is very rigid and unforgiving-and painful, especially walking downhill.
Because I am old and because I just happened to have some leather couch softener-I applied or slathered the shoes with the stuff. Next day, the shoes felt a tad softer-there was reason to hope. Now it's a few weeks later and we are talking hiking slippers. The hate is a distant memory. It's all about love.
In summary, these are well made hiking shoes at a good price. Just know going in they require several hours of hiking before they become comfortable.
Now, it's time for my nap!
