“I had a previous pair of Teva Toachi sandals that lasted around 18 months of fairly frequent use in S. China before the heel eventually separated from the hard upper, presumably due to inferior glue. The pair I ordered in July '10 separated in the same place after ONLY TWO DAYS of very light use. Clearly whatever glue Teva's recent Chinese suppliers have been using is even worse than the earlier glue. I've been a Teva customer for many years, and my Terra Fi 2 sandals have seen much use without any problem. Online, the latest Toachi's, men's or women's, show a cascade of identical complaints. Either Teva has decided to take the money and run until they collapse, or this is a fairly limited supplier problem, it's a terribly shortighted way to run a good firm into the ground. Just witless. Aside from this problem, I like the Toachi's, though I wish the outsole and heel material had the longevity of Teva's classic sandals. I've even considered keeping these, and gluing the heel back on with good contact cement, but I can't guess whether the entire sole will separate before long, and what else may fail prematurely.
