Teva Toachi Sport Sandals with Toe Bumpers (For Men)

I needed a durable shoe I could wear in the water to load/unload my boat, then use them as a deck shoe on the boat. Additionally, they must dry fast, be easy to put on and take off.

I had a previous pair of Teva Toachi sandals that lasted around 18 months of fairly frequent use in S. China before the heel eventually separated from the hard upper, presumably due to inferior glue. The pair I ordered in July '10 separated in the same place after ONLY TWO DAYS of very light use. Clearly whatever glue Teva's recent Chinese suppliers have been using is even worse than the earlier glue. I've been a Teva customer for many years, and my Terra Fi 2 sandals have seen much use without any problem. Online, the latest Toachi's, men's or women's, show a cascade of identical complaints. Either Teva has decided to take the money and run until they collapse, or this is a fairly limited supplier problem, it's a terribly shortighted way to run a good firm into the ground. Just witless. Aside from this problem, I like the Toachi's, though I wish the outsole and heel material had the longevity of Teva's classic sandals. I've even considered keeping these, and gluing the heel back on with good contact cement, but I can't guess whether the entire sole will separate before long, and what else may fail prematurely. Teva needs to change the glue they use for the soles. Returned first pair under warranty, only to find 2nd pair delaminating even faster and now they squeak. I will try to glue them myself with something else. They are comfy and nice looking, but not durable at all.

My 13 year old loves these shows. Very comfortable and suffered no breakin time. My 10 year old has a pair too. The only bad thing is the heal started to separate about two weeks after he got them. We just super glued it back together and they seem okay.

I bought these for my hard-to-fit honey, and he likes them! He has Fred Flintstone feet (wide toes that square off at the top) compounded by a high instep, so it's very hard to find any shoes that he can wear. He loves these shoes! Great find and great bargain!

this is my second pair, just love them! First pair still in use after a year of wear from the beach to the mountains, from work to the garden... Just needed a cleaner look for traveling.

We purchased a variety of Teva hiking sandal models for a 15 day trip down the Grand Canyon. We wore them around the house and yard for a few weeks to break them in. The very first day in the canyon they started falling apart - the soles delaminated and I spent hours of precious canyon time trying to glue them using shoo goo, aqua seal and gorilla glue. Nothing held more than a couple days. Finally we duct taped them as best we could and hoped we didn't kill ourselves on the hikes by slipping on the duct taped soles. Another customer on the trip also had her Tevas delaminate (we had the spider rubber inserts, she had a full rubber sole). The guides previously had bad experiences with Teva and wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole. Teva knew these sandals were defective, and sold them anyway instead of recalling them. I bought some of the original Teva sandals 20 years ago, but will never buy their product again.

I have owned at least six pairs of Teva's. The last two were junk. The first pair the sole came of in a year or less. And the second pair the sole came of in a week!!!! What happened to Teva quality?

The sandal is very functional,specially w/ the drain cavity. Good arch support & very comfortable to wear.

After 4 days on GC the soles fell apart... return in process with Teva ... contact customer support for a refund directly with them.
