I purchased this to replace a 10+ year old Spyder jacket whose zippers were starting to fail. Budget was a consideration, but since I like to ski trees and other rough areas, I wanted something durable. This jacket should live up to all of that. While I haven't been out skiing yet, I have been wearing it to ride my scooter to work, and it is exceeding my expectations. The storm hood is exceptional, and will serve me well at the top of Loveland or A-Basin, where the wind never stops. The only downside to this jacket for me is the lack of interior pockets. I'll remedy that with a different TNF fleece with a chest pocket though.

This was my first STP purchase - very impressed with the speed of delivery. Will buy more from them.

First time I used the jacket was a recent night game running the chains at my sons football game. I stayed very warm in the brisk wind. I did however blend in with the orange poles. This jacket is very orange. Like hunter safety orange.
    • Best Uses: CASUAL WEAR
    • Cons: Really Orange
    • Pros: Comfy Good Size

Third Northface winter jacket I've owned. I like the fact that on this jacket the inner jacket/lining is zipped to the outer shell. The only con is that the shade of orange is much brighter in person than on the web pictures, think hunter/highway worker orange:)

About The North Face

Believe it or not, The North Face story didn’t begin on a high-altitude ascent. It actually began in San Francisco at less than 200 feet above sea level. However, what started as a neighborhood mountaineering shop has since evolved into an industry-leading, award-winning outdoor equipment and apparel brand. Since its inception more than 40 years ago, The North Face has grown to include clothing and gear designed for nearly every type of adventure, from alpine skiing to backpacking to trail running. Today, The North Face jackets and pants are chosen by world-class athletes, and The North Face rugged boots help carry explorers through the toughest terrain, from the icy slopes of Everest to Utah’s Green River basin.
