The North Face Hedgehog Gore-Tex® XCR® BOA® Trail Shoes - Waterproof (For Men)

I have a somewhat narrow foot and not being able to tie my own laces restricts the amount I can bring the shoe in close to my foot. For those with narrow feet beware!

I've never been disappointed with a Northface product. Don't hesitate to purchase online. Northface is true to size.

These seem a bit stiff out of the box. But with a little manual "flexing" they instantly became flexable. The best part is the stability of the shoe! I need all I can get. [...] The BOA lacing system is an excellent feature!

I broke these shoes in at Disneyworld in Florida. They proved to be very comfortable and durable. I noticed that the BOA strands have damaged the shoe around the tongue, but not enough to cause alarm. The BOA is easy to use and very strong. I highly recommend these North Face shoes.

I didn't really get to use this shoe. I ordered my usual size, a 10.5, but I found the toe box cramped and stiff. I think a half size larger might have solved this. Otherwise it felt like a very stable shoe for trail running, some light hiking and even everyday use, particularly in slushy conditions.

The first thing you'll notice about these shoes is the innovative lacing system. Instead of tying your laces, you twist a knob on the back of the heel to tighten. It really does a great job of tightening down to a very secure and even feel very quickly. If you decide you want them a little tighter, you give it another twist. You hardly even need to slow down. To loosen, just pull the knob and instantly all tension is released. To sum up, you can put on and take of your shoes while standing up with one hand tied behind your back - which is kind of nice. The area around the ankle is a little stiffer than I like. It only occasionally gets uncomfortable. I'm still hopeful that it'll break in though.

I bought these because I love the BOA lacing system. I have three other paid of North Face sneaker using this system. The feel true to size and can be worn all day. I have stepped in some puddles and my feet stayed dry. The only negative is that the lacing system button can pop if you hit something making the cable loose. This is sort of like stepping on your laces.

I've used these shoes on trail runs and day hikes around Durango,CO. They have great traction, are comfortable and the lacing system rocks.

Shoe was definitely too small. I wear 9 in all my shoes except Asics, and this was like an Asics shoe. It was labeled as a 42 Euro and I normally go with 42.5 Euro. So TNF needs to know that 9 US is equal to 42.5 Euro. Most sizing charts indicate this. All shoes need to be sized in European sizes to prevent confusion. Waiting for exchange so that I can try these out. The design looks excellent and I love the BOA system. Tread looks shallow and not very long-lasting, but Vibram is usually top-notch.

My first time purchasing shoes with the BOA system, and I have to say I'm impressed. They are by far the most comfortable shoes I own for hiking.
