    Not up to the usual North Face quality - feels very cheap - also the collar is huge and it's not very fitted.

    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I've had this fleece for over a year and I like wearing it casually when temperatures are cooler, but I was disappointed when I brought it on the trail. It's very warm, but it offers no resistance to the wind. It also just feels kind of stiff and bulky, and not very soft. It's not practical to bring this backpacking. If you just want to jump on the North Face bandwagon, this is the cheapest way to do it. But if you're looking for something technical for hiking and backpacking, spend your money on something else.
