Reviewed by Alex from Livermore, CA on Wednesday, November 21, 2012I have taken the jacket out on two runs so far and it has performed very well. It's much stretchier than anticipated, and not quite as wind proof, but I can't say I have anything that performs the same functions this piece does. It's not as heavy as a rain shell, nor does it block 100% of the wind the way such a shell would. It is lighter than a thermal layer but manages to retain some warmth. It also sheds light drizzle and blocks some wind. The hood is great-fitting and the back pocket comes in handy as well. Overall a great piece with some unique attributes for those days when conditions are on the fouler end of nice.

I've used the jacket on a rainy trail run and in a drizzly half marathon and it worked both times. It's a nice layering piece and takes up little room in a pack.

I don't know how well it will hold it's shape or wear over time. Hood is a tight fit and adjustable but no visor to keep rain out of your face. I have not worn this jacket in the rain or running so cannot speak as to it's ability to shed water or breathe. It is expensive even on sale but North Face has a good rep. The Yellow is not too bright. With a little effort the jacket will fit in the pocket. This is an anorak(half zip) pullover.
