This shoe is flawlessly constructed and has a unique style. (I especially like the herringbone pattern.)
The North Face included two embelishments I've never seen before: 1) two cut-outs on the sole reveal areas of the bamboo shank, with one sporting a (presumably) laser-engraved North Face logo! 2) Stylish drawing imprinted on the liner and insert.
And this should make some people feel better:
"The definitive, off-the-mountain shoe built with eco-ideals for those who strive to walk the walk."
"UPPER--Combination metal-free suede and spun bambool textile upper; Crepe mudguard and heel protection; Plant cellulose fiber foam sockliner.
"BOTTOM--40% recycled rubber outsole; Cork EVA midsole with plant cellulose fiber heel cushioning; Bamboo shank [GREAT IDEA!] provides midfoot support and stability."
Clearly The North Face put a concerted effort into the design and manufacture of this shoe.

I do not know how people find these shoes comfortable. The toe box is not comfortable on my feet. I normally wear 8.5 for all my North Face shoes and boots, but these are definitely felling 1/2 size too small. Overall build quality seems good and the rubbber soles feel sticky. Recommend, but get 1/2 size larger.

Probably only a fall and winter shoe. The material keeps your feet quite warm. Overall I really like the style and comfort and fit. Not the most comfortable shoes I've owned but still quite comfortable.
