The fit is designed so that the coat can be worn over winter clothes. I would not go out in a down coat unless it was cold out, and I would not wear less than two layers on top while it is cold out, so the coat is designed for that.     Defintely not the quality you would expect from The North Face. Too bad because I've wanted a coat like this for years. Down is flat. Returned and as usual STP return process is excellent. Thank you!

The feathers stay in and the zipper is solid and smooth. These two items alone make it an excellent long term purchase. I love the length-below the knee on me and I am 5'6" with size 8 average build. I bought a Medium.

    A warm coat that's long, which I love. I ordered a large because I like to wear jackets under my coats. I was pleased with the fit.
