Someone asked if the jacket made a crickly sound. Yes, they do. I just purchased one of these in Small for my wife, and an XL for myself. But the noise isn't bothersome unless perhaps you were deer hunting with a bow. I'm 6-2, 200, and the XL appears to be a good fit, with room for a substantial under-layer, or two modest ones. My wife is 5-5, somewhere between 115 and 120. She hasn't tried it on because I haven't yet had the nerve to show it to her. Even though it was steeply discounted from the [$] it would have been in the fall, she will react in a manner that hints at the conclusion that perhaps I shouldn't have bought them, especially without consulting her. There was a young working at the UPS store where I have stuff shipped. She was 5-6, 120, or so she claimed, and was nice enough to try it on. It looked to fit slightly tighter than mine, probably room for one light under-layer, only. Otherwise, the design and construction are impeccable, lots of pockets, zippers are protected, hood attaches perfectly, etc. I have no doubt this is going to be a great rain jacket.I should note they these don't fold into one pound, one inch squares that fit in their own pocket. The shell is constructed out of substantial material. For my wife's to work in weather colder than the 30s, I'd need to exchange it for a Medium, which would allow, for example, TNF Denali Fleece or something similar as the under-layer. Since I bought the last woman's Varius availabe in black - it had to match mine, we are are a couple, afterall - the Small will have to do. If we're out in colder weather, she has a North Face Triclimate that is warmer, but it is water resistant, not waterproof, as is the Varius. Well, we'll hide under that bridge if it begins to rain/sleet in colder weather. In my experience, you don't want to ge wet.Great jackets. I love mine and am sure my wife will like hers, too, when she eventually sees it, tries it on, and realizes it's too late to return.
