    I use these type of shoes for day hikes and trail running around phoenix. The rocks just tear up shoes. This is the only shoe for trail running that really covers motion control. This shoe is comparable to the brooks beast for road shoes. I'm not twisting my ankle so far in these shoes. Too bad someone else wrote that this model is discontinued.

    The North Face Wolf Ridge is an excellent trailrunning shoe and does the job perfectly. It is the only motion control trailrunning shoe I have ever seen. It is a monster of a shoe. It is very stable, has a wide base, well cushioned, very durable, and is surprisingly lightweight. It is just too bad that North Face is no longer making the shoe. Buy them while you can.
