While I have not taken it out doors for a field test, I was pleased with the easy setup inside my house. The bottom ans sides are re-enforced for strength and the stitching for the straps appears many years of camping. The bottom looks to be made of a durable fabric that will prevent any punctures form the ground. You can not beat the price! Similar chairs are $40 - $50 in stores.
Reviewed by Chief Moosehead from Baltimore, Md on Friday, January 24, 2014This is the first backpacking chair that I've purchased. I already have a thermarest pad, so I just needed the chair. For $15, this is an excellent buy. It is not the most comfortable thing, but it does provide a nice backrest for 11 oz. I've also used it with just the small foam sitting pad that carry with me. (I piece of a foam sleeping pad that I cut off) With that configuration, there is no cushioning on the back rest, but it pretty much serves the same purpose. All in all, a good thing to have for a small cost and small weight.
Reviewed by Melina from California on Thursday, January 9, 2014We just got back from yet another backpacking trip where these chairs were greatly appreciated. It's so relaxing to kick back at camp before or after a long hike with these. I guess they're not ultralight material but we go pretty minimal and I wouldn't sacrifice this comfort for the weight.

Reviewed by Jason from Cincinnati on Sunday, August 4, 2013I have used mine for years and LOVE it. I have used all sorts of pads in it, including a blue foamy, Neoair, regular thermarest, and nothing at all. It has been very durable and easy to pack next to tent poles, or around the poles. Hikers all have their own way of doing things, but this is a low cost, low weight luxury I never leave behind.
Question & Answer
The Trekker chair can be used on a bleacher.
It fit 20" pads, Long Therm-A-Rest pads are 25" wide so it would not fit. You would need the Therm-A-Rest 25" Trekking Chair for the long Therm-A-Rest mattress.
