We took a chance on these pads when the specs were wrong (it was listed as an R-Value of 5.7 and a width of 25") knowing that we were gambling because we couldn't find any information out there on the "NeoAir EXP" from Thermarest and also knowing that something had to be wrong (either with the item ... I'm happy with the construction and the product, but my shoulders does not fit. The mattress is too narrow. I think this product was made specially for Sierra Trading post, i highly recommend you buy from another site... unless you have narrow shoulders

Arrived on time in colorful nylon carry bag. I mistakenly thought this item was self inflating - no big deal to inflate manually. Lived up to specifications; really the size of a 1 liter bottle, a dream for packing and transporting at approx 18 ounces. Looked super thin but material very strong and sleeping comfort fantastic. After our camping trip in California, my daughter stole the mattress before I got on the plane. She knows what's good and will use it in her travels the rest of the year.

I've slept on the ground for years of my life (actual years) on foam pads, but am getting more old and creaky as those years pass. This pad weighs the same as those light foam pads, but if far more comfortable. I've got 35 nights on mine and no leaks or punctures.

I finally got this pad out in the field for two consecutive nights and i have zero complaints. It is fairly lightweight, very small and compactable, and provided a fantastic nights sleep. I am a side sleeper and did not have any problems with my hips hitting the ground. I highly recommend this pad.

  • Question “is it included air pump (mini pump)?

Asked on 6/2/2014 8:39:44 PM by sungyoun lee from korea
    • Answer An air pump is not included. It is not that difficult to inflate this mattress without a pump (by blowing into it). But if you want the mini pump, you'll have to order it separately.

    • Answer It does NOT include a pump..
Answered on 6/3/2014 2:48:51 AM by Jayce1968 from Pennsylvania
    • Answer No, there is no air pump included with this mattress. Most companies make "pump sacks" for their non self inflating mattresses. Here is a link to the pump sack from Thermarest: We bought Big Agnes sleeping pads before these, so we just use our Big Agnes pump sack ( and it works great!

    • Answer Yes it is a 4 season pad. Has r - value of 2.5. It packs real small and is super light. Worked great directly on snow
Covered ground. This pad is made for Sierra Trading Post so u won't find it in stores. You won't find a better pad especially for the price after 35-40% off.. I would definitely recommend. Model is NeoAir EXP. Call manufacturer ThermaRest for more details 206-505-9500
Answered on 4/21/2014 4:41:05 AM by Jayce1968 from Pennsylvania
    • Answer It is the NeoAir EXP, which I understand can best be described as the outside of the XTHERM but without the crinkly inside and the higher R-value. I have read where people have successfully called Cascade Designs for specifics, but I understand this model has never made it into full production. We are very happy with ours and fell like we got an excellent bargain.
