Reviewed by nylulu from katonah on Monday, April 08, 2013These blackout liners do block light. However, the metal attachments at the top drop down so far from the rod thus showing lots of light. Your drapes would have to be way above the windows to put these on without this problem. In my case I have limited space that precludes raising the rod. Sure you could put the rod through the top of the curtain BUT then it doesn't slide quickly. its really weird how these are constructed

I was so impressed with them, that I bought them for my living room as well. I like that they hang on their own rod, so I'm not committed to the dark, heavy, pricier black-out drapes. I just pair them with prettier curtains on the outside rod. Also, I was able to get them on sale at 70% off, went through Ebates for a % cash back, used my credit card for additional cash back, and free shipping. I priced many more expensive thermal black-out blinds, and these were just perfect..exactly what I wanted, and for a very affordable price.

They block out light, noise, and keep the room at a comfortable temperature, nicely hidden behind my pretty white curtains. They are easy to hang, and the price was right on point! This really works well and I was quite pleased with the results. The only con was during the "assembly" which was not very easy. We had to improvise in order to put them up properly but onc they were up, they definitely served their purpose.
