These curtains are so nice that I have re-ordered them for a second house. Yes, they are wrinkled out of the package...what curtains are not? As others have suggested, a round in the dryer with a damp towel helps, and an iron works too. (I've tried both since I now have more than 5 pairs of these cu... Read More

    • Answer Yes, they are black out curtains.
Answered on 10/31/2014 9:45:33 AM by Savvy shopper from Shelby Township, MI
    • Answer no, they are not. They have a white backing that certainly helps cut out the light but I use blinds behind them. they are lovely drapes and I am very please with them

    • Answer No, they are not total black out. They block, by my unscientific estimate (smile), about 70% - 80% of the light. They're very good. I would say they would block out more light if I had bought larger panels. Part of the problem is the light coming in on the sides of the window. My panels don't cover that. If you have room, and you want total block out, buy larger panels than you would with regular curtains.

    • Answer The ad says, "perfect for day sleepers." Although they aren't specifically described as "blackout," they are thick & insulated. I have the off-white & they had a bit of a tendency to gap on a 6' wide patio door. I ordered a 2nd set so now I have no gap & a fuller look. On a 5' window or door, they should give complete coverage.

    • Answer Technically no. Despite the thermal lining, they are translucent, admitting some filtered light.

    • Answer I have them in a room without direct sunlight. When closed the tan colored curtains allow plenty of light to get through. If they were dark blue or black you would get a different effect. I have similar ones on the same side of the house, but in dark blue. When closed those curtains make the room very dark. Hope this helps.

    • Answer They are not describe by the manufacture as black out curtains. However they do provide black out. FYI make sure you buy enough panels (pay attention to the width) you may need to buy more to cover entire window. I didn't realize I needed more width and had to make a 2nd order.
