I am very pleased with these curtains. They only took minutes to hang & the color is perfect. I live in an old drafty farm house & when it's windy it gets very cold in the living room. I put these up on a very windy day & could feel the difference in the room right away.

I like these better than some of the bulky insulated curtains although I wasn't impressed with the "natural" color that I ordered at first. I've grown to like them but they do have a slight yellow tinge to them. I was thinking it would be more on the taupe coloring. They aren't quite as wide as I would like but hang nicely once laundered and steamed.

It was a bit difficult getting the folded wrinkles out of these, but I sprayed them with a bit of water and steam ironed them on the fabric side without any damage and they look pretty good. I ordered the natural, which is actually a yellowish off white color (I was expecting more of a tannish parchment color) but they worked out OK. The lighter color does not block much light, which is fine with me as I did want some of the natural light to come through. The darker colors block light much better, if that is what you are looking for. They have a coating on the back of the fabric and are fairly light weight compared to other lined thermal curtains I own (which have a separate liner), but they do a fair job at helping to regulate the drafts from the windows. I liked these so much I ended up purchasing these in the grommet top version as well in a darker color for the bedroom and they block light better and are very nice as well.

These aren't fancy, but the color is rich and dark. The pair I received seemed to run an inch or two short. The block the draft on our bedroom windows quite well.

These curtains were more than I expected for the money I paid. Excellent quality and they look great.

I am going to follow the advice of others that bought these curtains and wash and iron carefully. yes, the creases are a pain, but I have bought these before and with patience it all works. I needed 6 pairs and they are well worth the price. I bought the pale blue - its close to what used to be called Wedgewood.

  • Question “Are these blackout curtains?”
Asked on 5/5/2012 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer The curtains will deflect some light. But, they are not classified as "black out" curtains. Thanks for asking and have a great day.

  • Question “I have a narrow window, 39". Is this product too wide or with the pleats will it look okay?”
Asked on 11/9/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer Each of the panels in this set would be 40" by 63" and would be sufficient for a narrow window with measurement of 34" wide by 63 " long. Even with the extra 6" and assuming that there are 6 tabs along each panel and that you are a seamstress or have someone who could sew for you, you might be able to split them in the center. You would then have 3 inches on each center to be adequate for a seam and you would then have a pair for your narrow window.

    • Answer Here's what I did with my windows. I like a lot of light so I only use one panel per window. Because of the thickness of the fabric (thermal factor) it is a bit stiff. It might block the majority of the light coming through your window if you use two with the pleats and all. Does that help?
Answered on 12/18/2011 12:00:00 AM by Vermonter from Barre, VT
    • Answer I think it will look nice. The tabs will make pretty subtle waves, rather than deep pleats.

    • Answer If all you're worried about is covering the windows, yes they will work. However, these are made to be pleated and might look odd (flat) with only one panel per window.
