It's also larger than you might think from the photo. I'm not sure about nine cans, but you could put a whole picnic for two in this, no problem. Unbelievable buy.

Made well and is ample enough in size to fit a sandwich, a drink, fruit and a few other small things in. Looks like your carrying a pocketbook.
