    Bought them to wear under my fishing waders. Needed a calf lenght, thin high performance type a sock to wear under my breathable sock foot wader during Spring, Summer, & Fall. Tired of tube sock that keep sliding and bunching up in the foot area. Must also move moisture away to keep the feet dry and comfortable. Unfortunately I can't test them till next April. Striped Bass season in NYC doesn't open till 4/15/11.

    I am a pluse size person and the socks streatch nicely and have a wide top cuff. Does not cut off circulation when pulled up. It was thinner than I had expected, but I ended up using it as a liner(1st layer) yesterday when I went x-country skiing. Wicked moisture great, feet stayed warm

    The biggest misconception is the a.thick ski sock.will keep you warmer, however if you have a goof fitting boot, all a thick sock does.is cut off.circulation. these socks are an excellent alternative if you are wool intolerant. They got more to the size 8 rather towards the 10, which I prefer.
