For those who are curious, this is a US Army assault pack. It is a part of the MOLLE II system and can be attached to a frame which is part of that system. However, it is also designed to be used alone. and works great in that capacity. The volume is 2000 cu. in. or 32.7 liters. In the Q&A of this i... Read More

U were right, about the ample storage space, multiple attachment points. Envy of all who've seen it - family, friends, colleagues.

...too big for me and not really enough adjustment in the stiff straps to make it really work. The pack was a bit heavier than I expected as well. The material is definitely burly and should hold up to lots of abuse. It just wasn't going to work for canyoneering as well as I thought but a different model may.

For those who are curious, this is a US Army assault pack. It is a part of the MOLLE II system and can be attached to a frame which is part of that system. However, it is also designed to be used alone. and works great in that capacity. The volume is 2000 cu. in. or 32.7 liters. In the Q&A of this item, someone asked about the white straps and green strap loop that can be deployed out of slots. While, as STP replied, they can be used as load securing straps, in actuality, they were originally intended for airborne troop use. The white straps attach this pack to a parachute pack and the loop is for lowering the pack as a drop bag by a parachutist. This should give you some idea of just how amazingly sturdy this pack is. While it is frameless, there is a removable foam pad and plastic panel for back protection. Also, the face and sides of the pack have numerous MOLLE straps which are for attaching auxiliary pouches (not included) or just about anything you can fasten on for that matter. For what this is, the price makes it a great value.

This is one tough pack. Every aspect of the pack seems to welcome any abuse you can give it.
