Timberland Cadion Down Vest (For Women)

I bought this to hike and camp in cold weather. Because I live in Florida, expensive cold weather clothing is not part of my wardrobe. But, I like to camp all the time, in all weather, and find myself camping and hiking in 20 - 30 degree temperatures ocasionally. This vest was a great price, is warm when layered with wool, and the hood with neck collar is great in the wind. The draw string at the bottom hem allows you to cinch it in to keep air out. I typically wear a 10 - 12, and bought a large so I would have room for clothing underneath. It fits really well - not to tight at hips. It is also longer in the back so it doesn't ride up with a pack.

The vest is nice and cozy and warm. I wish that the vest had been tailored more in the chest. It just goes straight down and gives a flat look. Other than it is a nice looking vest.

You sent the wrong size and I am returning for credit vs exchange due to the bulkiness of the vest.

Of all the cold weather clothing I have recently ordered, this one is probably the most versatile. I ordered a bit on the large side in order to be able to fit a couple shirts underneath when necessary. I mostly intend to wear this for colder indoor temperatures (which seems to occur sometimes at home since I'm trying not to save on the electric bill, and also may happen at work due to faulty climate control there), but also for cooler outdoor temperatures. The great things about this vest are that it has a good amount of insulation throughout, has adequate baffling to keep the down in place, seems to have much more down than feathers, has a hood for added versatility in keeping warm, has flush pockets, has a hang-loop, has good wind protection, and offers good freedom of movement. I normally wear a size 6 these days and am rather small-chested, but large-hipped. For my purposes, the M fits great. I would imagine that a S would also fit me, but then it may be a bit tighter everywhere especially when wearing thicker clothing underneath. The down seems to expand to fill the extra space just fine when wearing thinner layers.

Great with just a long sleeve T for chilly days or even better on hikes with gusty wind and cold temperatures. The hood is an added bonus

This vest is warm without being too heavy. I do worry about washing this light colored feather filled vest.

Bought as gifts, one for wife was too tight, sent it back for exchange to next larger size.
