Despite the negative ratings, I went ahead and ordered these shoes in red. I just got them today, and tried them on. Well, it turns out that I really like them. I'm so impressed. The only thing is they gape a little at the sides and they are slightly large. But this isn't unusual, because I have flat feet, and this sometimes happen in some shoes. I think if I get an insole, it'll take up some the slack. However, these are definitely a keeper. I like a pair in white, but it looks as though they are sold out. I would exchange my red ones, but they don't have any of those in the next size down. But that's okay, they probably would have been too tight anyway,

Really wanted to wear these, Timberland is great but these were so painful, NO GIVE in the leather. Couldn't wear them long enough to soften and stretch the leather, and break them in. I came up with the idea of removing the stitching under the tongue where the shoe ties. THIS SOLVED THE PROBLEM! I went to my closet to find other shoes that I could widen this way that tied in the front and where loosened leather wouldn't be obvious and was able to make others comfortable that had pinched but kept; couldn't part with them. Glad I didn't throw them out now.. FURTHER THOUGHT ON THIS IS THAT AN INVISIBLE OR COLORED TIE/CORD MATERIAL THAT STRETCHES COULD REPLACE THE STITCHING WHERE NECESSARY.
HOPE THIS HELPS OTHERS WITH SENSITIVE FEET. One of my feet has a slight bunion.
