I bought these to wear with jeans, and though it says for men, it works great for lower hip jeans for women. The color and finish feels "rich". Perfect with white shirts. Feels like it will last forever.

A wide double-pronged leather belt suggests a heavy duty rugged belt. It's a common style with construction workers and policemen for holding their tools.

This belt is rather flimsy with the thickness about the same as my regular belts. But this one is cotton backed so the actual leather is about half as thick as my regular belts and I can definitely tell.

The stitching quality is also not very good and it is already coming apart. If you are using it as a fashion accessory, it should be fine. I normally don't hike with a belt since they don't work well with the pack waistbelt - but I do use a belt when camping or when working on the house.

As Timberland is an outdoor company, I'm surprised to see such an outdoor unworthy product in their lineup.

About Timberland

The Timberland footwear brand was officially launched in 1973, more than two decades after founder Nathan Swartz bought an interest in an established shoe company. Eight years earlier, the Swartz family had introduced injection-molding technology to the footwear industry. Today, this revolutionary manufacturing process is still being used to fuse the soles and uppers of Timberland boots without stitching, a process that allows for truly waterproof boots. Over the years, Timberland shoes and boots have continued to advance, incorporating modern features like Active Comfort Technology to provide a balance of cushioning, support and climate control. In 2008, Timberland also became the first footwear company to commercialize the use of rubber from recycled tires.
