My husband has the newer model and larger size of this bag. He uses it for everything. I recently purchased this product to travel to Boston. What a price! This is my third Timbuk2 messenger bag in 15 years, and they keep getting better. I use it every day as my work bag, and the plentiful pockets and sturdy construction make it worth every penny. The best part about it is that, about 6 months in, I discovered an entirely new zone of pockets! It was like a secret world! I carry work notebooks, books, and sometimes my macbook in the back sleeve, and m

    THE GOOD:
Well I've used a few different messenger bags now from Osprey and Haglöfs. This has the most features of any I've seen from these brands. Tons of pockets, a smart strapping system, sturdy material.

Now of course reviewing a bag is not so helpful unless you describe what you use it for. This bag is PERFECT for a 13-inch laptop (in my case, a 13-inch Macbook air in a protective sleeve). I keep the laptop, charger and USB cables, headphones, iPod shuffle, gum, pens, post-its, wallet, glass-cleaning cloth, and a few other random things in this bag. There are enough pockets to keep everything organized. If you have a smaller laptop like this, it's really perfect - the larger bags add unnecessary size and bulkiness. I was surprised how much better this fit and how much lighter everything felt when inside this bag.

    THE BAD:
I do have two complaints, which is why I only gave the bag four stars. There is no handle on the bag, so the only way to pick it up is by the shoulder strap. There are times when you really want to just grab the handle, for whatever reason. I have gotten used to it, but I still miss it.

The plastic latch that secures the strap at your preferred height is not the best design. All the bags I have used feature the same kind of plastic locking latch to hold the strap in place, but this is the first that seems to come undone. It's not too often, but 1-2 times a week is enough to aggravate.

    THE UGLY:
I lied, sorry. There is no ugly.

In this new version (interior sleeve for paper/laptop) it is excellent. Only drawback if you can call it one is stitching pockets to sides not bottom.

It's OK!!! Does the job and the price was RIGHT. Strap could be much longer and more comfortable. NOT MY EDDIE BAUER!!!! I hope the newer model has MORE pockets and BETTER strap.
