Timbuk2 Datadump Daypack

Appears to be well made, lots of pockets. Extra cord pockets are nice, and the waterproof compartment for a water bottle is genius. It is a bit heavy, though, even when empty (a tradeoff for the generous padding). The opening for the main compartment (not where the laptop goes) has a long zipper across the top. There are clips on either side to snap the ends of the zipper down once it is closed. I suppose this adds a degree of security against the zipper opening with heavy loads, but it is a little inconvenient to have to snap and unsnap to get in and out.

Well, since this is a closeout and it doesn't appear that Timbuk2 is making this pack again, this is your last chance to buy this pack. It was a good price for the product when I got it. The capacity is a bit deceptive - I ordered it because people said there was a fair amount of room in it. It is deep room, not wide room, and that's not as good for my application (School, work), but it's not a debilitating feature.

1st off ... Own three (different Colors) and I Purchased one for my friend. This bag serves a dual purpose for me. It holds vinyl Records very nicely and provides padding. I can even throw a slim mixer in the laptop slot and be off. Perfect bag for distant gigs. Also an Excellent carry -on luggage bag. It holds over a weeks worth of Clothing, toiletries and ancillary items with room to spare. I travel a lot overseas and this Bag has been invaluable. Only Flaw is the front pockets they open gull wing style and make it difficult when grabbing items on the fly w'out something falling out. Awesome Bag. Zuko

The main compartment is a huge black hole. There is an adequate netting/pocket for storage in this main compartment. The laptop compartment is well secure. I wish that the side pockets had just a little more room. They are in good places with easy access. Perhaps if the big compartment was divided into two sections, a person could organize better rather than have the black hole effect.

The well-padded shoulder straps make this an ideal way to carry a larger laptop, for those who are fragile.

I was looking for a pack to use everyday for books, diapers, laptop etc. as I work, travel, and go to school with my 9 month old. This pack was way too big and combersome for daily use. I am returning it and found a normal size bag elsewhere...disappointing as I had hoped to find a Timbuk2 bag that worked for me.

I used this bag last year for a one week summer camp. I was able to take 7 different summer outfits, pajamas and 2 pairs of shoes. The backpack comes with a small bag which I used for my toiletries. I also used it for cross country meets. There is enough room for my tennis shoes, my uniform, my lunch, my blanket and extra clothes in case it rains. Great Bag.

I did a ton of research before deciding on this bag and I am very happy with my decision. There is a ton of room inside and the padding for my laptop is wonderful. One of the reasons I wanted a bag like this is because I am going to be flying this summer and didn't want to check luggage. There is more than enough room to pack what I need in the bag, and have my laptop. I am more than happy with this bag.

This backback is very comfortable and even though it is heavy it doesn't feel heavy because of the padding. The only complaint I have is that it is difficult to get a 15" laptop loaded into the padded compartment. It would be much easier if the zipper opened a little bit more.

This is a great backpack! My laptop fits right in and it is easy to slide in and out. Its a little bigger than I expected and I can fit a lot of stuff in it.
