Timbuk2 Gripster Strap Pad

Replaced stock pad on shoulder strap of Timbuk2 medium Commuter 2.0 bag with this pad to reduce slipping / increase friction. It does what it's supposed to do. Traffic cone / blaze orange color didn't appeal at first but since there was no gray, I took it. Now I like the color contrast since it makes the bag easier to pick out visually.

I got this for my first grader who has a messenger bag that she otherwise loves and is sturdy but had no cushioning on the strap. She complained that the strap was cutting into her shoulder (and her head since she sometimes like to carry it that way...). The gripster strap pad does what it says. It's very thickly padded and gripping so the strap doesn't cut into her anymore or slip around her shoulder or head. And not only does she love the bright orange color, but she can now very easily identify her bag at school.

This strap pad has just the right amount of padding to protect the shoulder, but not enough to cause instability (a problem with some pads). It also has just the right amount of "grip" to it so that it does not slip, but I can still pull the bag from my shoulder and it does not grab my clothing. Another great product from Timbuk2!!
