Timbuk2 Hemlock Laptop Backpack - Roll Top, Medium

I was using a Timbuk2 messenger laptop bag, but it wasn't able to hold everything I needed for the day. This bag tops my messenger bag by a long shot. The quick access laptop compartment is awesome. The roll top main pocket holds everything I need for the day or weekend. I am able to fit two changes of clothes, a fleece, and my bike helmet while still closing the compartment and being able to see/look over my shoulder while riding. It'd be nice of the velcro fastener that holds the roll top had two tabs to make it easier to use, or a zipper. The small front pocket holds my iPod, pens/pencils, calculator, computer cord, and a few odds and ends with ease. The bag rides really well fully loaded. I was able to fit a full grocery load in it easily. I may get a sleeve for my laptop for more protection, as the laptop compartment is padded, but not quite as much as my former bag. I'm not too "hot" on the camo color, but otherwise I like the bag! It deserves 5 stars despite the color!

Protects the laptop well, and access to the laptop is quick. Great design and the straps are thin but very comfortable. This holds enough for a three day. I have not seen how waterproof it is yet, but I think if you roll up the top right it will work well and dry. The price was so good nobody believes me when I tell them what I paid.

Big enough to carry a case of beer.

Lots Of Pockets And Features

For the price I really can't complain. Well I can a little. There's not really a lot of pockets or organization, just a large sack for cramming stuff inside. The one pocket on the back doesn't really latch securely (velcro), it's too loose and I wouldn't trust it to be waterproof. The strap to tighten the main pouch slips. Pros: the main portion seems sturdy and waterproof, although I haven't tested it in very heavy rain. Also very cheap, if you go with the ghastly camo.
