    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    The Time Sport TXL mountain bike shoe seems to be on the small side. A women's size 8.5 shoe will not fit the Time Sport TXL size 40. Get one size higher for better fit so that the big toe does not scrape the top of the shoe. The shoe has laces so you may want to tighten the laces to make sure the heel does not come off the shoe either. For me, my toe jammed to the front and my heel came off slightly with this shoe.

    I was SO hoping this shoe would work out as I got it for a steal with an online coupon. Everything about it was perfect, except it fit tightly in the ball of my foot. So tight, that my feet were asleep before I even got to spin class. My foot tends towards wide in this area, so if yours doesn't, it's probably a great fit for you. I ordered a size 40 and I'm a 7 1/2 - 8 in womens. So, DO size up!
