Soft leather, fit just as a western boot should. Heel lifts slightly when you walk. True to size! Love these boots!!

I run an 8.5 to 9, and these 8.5 boots fit well.

At first I was not sure about the crackle finish, then i tried them on, and I was just plain happy. The fit is true to size on me, I wear a 8.5 in western boots (traditional shoe size is a 9). I ordered both color options, hard to make the choice for the price even harder to let one go back to the store. Look good, very comfortable, and I agree with other reviews they are not for everyone, however if you are drawn to them, try them, I am delighted I did.
