Tool Logic Key Ring Whistle/Fire Starter Accessory Kit

Great if counting ounces, or for a survival kit, otherwise it's a novelty. This is a compact unit, allowing you to a ditch seperate whistle and flint. The stubby striker steel takes some getting use to. The lanyard hole is on the detacable steel. Also please realize that the small attached rod is magnesium, not a flint or ferrous rod, so the sparks will be hotter. Once the rod is used up, this would still be a good, loud whistle.

Carried the first in my pocket, liked it so ordered 3 more for friends & family, before they arrived I reached in my pocket to find the magnesium rod no longer atttached to the plastic body. If this happened while attached to my fishing vest as I intend to use it the rod would have been lost making it usless in an emergency. Super glued it back on, will see how that holds up before deciding on wheather or not to return the others (probaly should test making a fire with it as well)

Very lightweight. Magnesium cylinder was broken off when I opened the package. The striker was impossible to access without a key or a knife. If I was dying in the woods....I would probably be dead.
