Got this for my hubby to carry in his backpack. I'm sure he will love it!

Too many compromises in quality and usability make this Chinese built tool a poor choice for most uses. It's too bulky and heavy for EDC; too unreliable for fire starting and lighting purposes. It would make a decent "beater" tool or backup when nothing else is available. Can't recommend it, even at less than $20.
    • Best Uses: Backup Tool In Glove Box
    • Cons: Bad Fire Steel, Chinese Build Quality, Dim Light, Heavy
    • Pros: Relatively inexpensive, Sharp

Having paid less than $20 for this knife, I'm not going to complain TOO much, but the prospective buyer should be aware of a few key things:
    1) The fire steel is very short and of suspect quality. It's difficult to get good sparks from it.
    2) The construction is typical of inexpensive Chinese-made goods; not high quality.
    3) The overall unit is heavy for its size.
    4) It does none of its functions (knife, light, fire starter, whistle) very well and is a compromise in every category.

Having said all that, if you're looking for an inexpensive tool to use for odd jobs, or as a backup to a better tool, you might consider this one. If it fails to meet your expectations, at least you didn't break the bank purchasing it. This knife is definitely sharp enough to cut through most ropes, boxes, carpets, etc. and is a handy tool for the tool box. I find serrated blades are often an indication of a low-end knife (though this isn't by any means a certainty), but they do work well for things like cutting or shearing through tough materials.
    • Best Uses: Back-up tool
    • Cons: Cheap Onstruction, Heavy, Serrated blade, Short Fire Steel
    • Pros: Inexpensive, Multi-function, Sharp out of the box
