Fire steel works pretty good, knife blade isn't the best steel but fine for most cutting chores, great for its intend use as an emegency all-in-one tool flash light is fairly bright for its size and better than being in the dark in a pinch, but your not going to be using it to splotlight coyotes anyway, right?

Very lightweight. Magnesium cylinder was broken off when I opened the package. The striker was impossible to access without a key or a knife. If I was dying in the woods....I would probably be dead.
