Reviewed by greg from buffalo, ny on Tuesday, February 12, 2013Bought this v-neck sweater to wear skiing under my ski jacket on the extra chilly days/nights. So far is has worked out well. The merino wool should hold up to normal wear. I will probably wear it casually after ski season is over.

Reviewed by Mickey from Grand Rapids, MI on Wednesday, December 26, 2012Even though the description says "close fit," I was not prepared for how small Toscano sizes sweaters for the Italian market. My "normal" size in sweaters is on the cusp between a medium and a large, so the "close fit" description dictated ordering a large. Nevertheless, if the large size in this sweater had been sold as a medium, I would consider it a "close fitting" medium. Only the vibrant color and my intended use -- wearing without anything but a tee underneath -- allows it to work. If you intend to wear this sweater with a dress or other collared shirt, order at least one size larger than normal.

Answer I would consider it average. The top of the V opening is 5 1/2 inches down from top of back neckline. I wore the sweater over a dress shirt and it revealed part of the collar and top two buttons.
