Great shoe overall. Had a lot of compliments from the very first day I began wearing them. It's pretty hard to find a good looking wingtip boot and this one did the trick. I like the dainte sole because it has the comfort and durability of rubber but looks polished enough to be mistaken for a leather sole.

Trickers are high-end, handmade boots. Normally, they would be too expensive for me, so when I found them on the Sierra Trading Post web-site, I pounced. I believe I will get many years of service from these boots. They are beautifully made of absolutely top quality materials - and they are resoleable!

I use the Tricker boots at Vintager events. They are very comfortable and perfectly suited to the occasion.

Shoes are absolutely beautiful, but [...] have had sizing issues. Very pleased with shoes though.

This is a very nice brogue boot. The recommendation to size down by half worked for me as I typically take either Allen Edmonds 10 3E, or 10.5 2E, depending on the last. I purchased a size UK 10. I have a narrow heel and midfoot, high arch and wide forefoot, making shoe selection generally tough, let alone sight unseen. The last of this boot is really good for my foot and the boot is also very high volume (the leather at the eyelets meets when the boot is laced), which helps for adding an insert/wearing a second pair of socks. If you are researching these boots online, don't mistake them for Tricker's Stows, their iconic country boot... these are slightly narrower and seem to have different welt construction. Aside from it being a very good quality boot, it has a great Dainite sole and a gusseted tongue, which is something that the Allen Edmonds boots these have replaced lacked. These features make it suitable for bad weather.

This is going to be a long, boring review so get some coffee. First, STP (as other folks have pointed out) has the size conversion wrong. I don't know a thing about other British handmade shoes but these should be marked one full size smaller than American sizing. The 8.5 British size marked on the box fit my 9.5 American just fine. Since STP gives you British sizing I don't have a problem with this at all.Second, I've been waiting to buy these particular boots for a year -- I missed them the first time. So of course I bought two pair. [...], buy a pair or two, you'll leave them to your kids. They will outlast you. Of course they are stiff and it will take some time to break in. You can wear them to the Kennedy Center for the ballet in really nasty weather.

Bought these early last fall. It's difficult to translate English sizes and lasts to American, and Tricker perhaps more than others. Following the online info I first ordered size 11 but they were too large and I reordered. I take an 11.5 D in Allen-Edmonds 5 last (e.g. Park Avenue) or 11 D in the 8(108) last (e.g. Delray) and would say that my Trickers, identified as 10-1/2 S by the stamp inside, are still a bit generous for my feet. And they do initially feel stiff, and the insoles felt very firm and inflexible. However, with about 20 wearings they were very comfortable and the soles were flexing well. A pair of tongue pads helped lots with the volume, and over time the width has molded to my foot. In short, you do have to break these in, after years of being spoiled by Allen-Edmonds!

These boots are fabulous! Bought a pair in Oak, loved them and all the compliments they produced, and came back for a pair in Coffee!

This shoe/boot is exactly what it purports to be, a stable, sturdy boot that can be worn to the office in difficult weather or worn on weekends for active casual activities. Not a real hiking boot, but built to take rugged wear. Only negative is that it is stiff on arrival and will require breaking in. Size, with Sierra clue to compare to American sizing, seems true to me.

These boots are beautiful, comfortable, handmade, and seem very durable so far (they certainly have a reputation for incredible durability). Tricker's markets these as a country boot, and maybe if you hang around with British royals your friends might be fashionable enough to raise their eyebrows if you wear them in town. But here in America these boots can take you from mucking out horses to the office. Perfectly acceptable for all but the most formal occasions - you would need to get down to ankle level to determine that these were anything other than a pair of high-end wingtip shoes. The boot boasts obviously high quality leather, beautiful, perfect brogueing, silky leather lining,a comfortable and supportive footbed, and a tough Dainite rubber sole. Should the sole ever wear out (which seems unlikely given how dense and resilient the rubber is) Tricker's can replace it, since the shoes are Goodyear welted. The dainite sole is a little stiff, and is not as refined as a leather sole, but it's perfect for unpleasant weather, and certainly doesn't look clunky or ungainly. The fit is slightly roomy since the boots are meant to be worn with thick socks. I'm an American 10.5 and I ordered UK size 10, and the boots fit perfectly with nice medium-weight wool socks. You simply don't see shoes of this quality in anything but the highest-end stores. Just amazing!
