Comfortable, well made, good looking shoes, at a fair price. What more could I ask for?

I just received the trickers shoes. They are clearly used (and not just factory seconds). There is wear on the heels and everywhere around the welt and on the sole and on the toe. Also the uppers are creased. I can’t believe these weren’t marked as such.

Simply the finest shoes I've ever owned. I couldn't justify spending that much money as Trickers charges but with the STP discount, after trying these out I bought a second pair in a little different style. They are a little large but manageably so. For the second pair I went to Trickers website and used their sizing guide. I knew the english don't polish their shoes before they ship so you or your valet can do it your way. For young people these are the perfect interview shoe. The more brogue the sportier the shoes. with a simple cap toe like these and highly polished they are perfect for a career interview or can even work with a tux. Because of the quality & thickness of the leather I expect these to last for my lifetime. Trickers will resole and recondition the shoes which makes these heirloom quality. I expect my brother to steal these when I die.

This is a very nice shoe. I ordered a light brown pair in 2011 and liked them so much that I just ordered a pair in black. However, I visited their website and now I can see why there might be confusion about Tricker's fit. I offer their explanation (copied from their website) below as much for people's amusement as for their enlightenment. I am still confused but I continue my studies.

    Introduction

Over the years Tricker's has constructed shoes on many different lasts, each specifically designed to achieve the best fit for the intended purpose, but also and very importantly to achieve the desired overall look of the shoe.

This is a great shoe, and the STP price is probably impossible to beat. Excellent with brown, tan or olive dress trousers. There seems to be some debate over U.S. vs. English sizing so I'll just mention that the 10.5 fit me fine and that I generally wear a 10.5 in U.S. made shoes and an 11 in many imports from the orient.
