No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I hadn't noticed the little bows when I purchased these shoes, but when they arrived I thought they looked a little dowdy. I wanted to keep them anyway, but the heel strap did not hold my foot firmly, and my foot moved from side to side as I walked. There was also a flap of leather sticking out on the inside that might have caused blisters. I need comfort above all, so I returned them.
