Turtle Fur Potosi Handknit Beanie Hat - Alpaca Wool (For Men and Women)

Not for large-headed man. Too tight. Re-gifting to 16-yr old son.

As mentioned above, this hat is fine for a lightweight hat. I have another Turtle fur hat so I was expecting a much heavier hat. I'll give it to my son, instead of returning it, and keep looking for the heavier one.

Very soft, warm and comfortable! Not exactly windproof, but great for 90 percent of the time.

It's a really good, decent hat. Incredibly comfortable. I enjoy wearing it. The alpaca wool creates a much more comfortable inner surface than any other hat fabric I've tried. I don't know how durable it is, however. The weave is somewhat loose, and at this point I have no idea how long it will hold up. Thus, it seems more appropriate for front-country than back-country use. I have two minor quibbles with the ad in the STP catalog: (1) There should have been a good close-up photo of a fairly large section of the design. (2) If the hat has two tassels, the photo should depict the two tassels, not just one.

This hat is very warm but breathes well so that the head doesn't get drenched in sweat when you're working hard in cold weather. The internal turtlefur band protects sensitive ears from the wool and light wind. The only drawback is that contact with the wool rim makes the back of my neck itch a bit - but that's wool.

Very good value, good quality and comfortable. Great foe downhill skiing.
