About Two Star Dog Margot Short Cardigan Sweater - Cozy Boucle (For Women)

Closeouts. Multi-textured boucle yarns look especially spirited down the center of Two Star Dog's Margot short cardigan sweater, where, after wrapping around the neck, they dip to the hem and form a scarf-like design.

The colors I ordered--the red and the blue--are beautiful. They fit just at or barely below the waist. Few things make me look forward to cold weather, but now I can look forward to wearing these two cardigans.

fluffy, but figure flattering. Espresso is a particularly rich color.

First, the yarn: Wonderfully soft yet bulky yarn in rich colors normally associated with wool. A slightly brighter yarn is woven through to give a tastefully subtle shimmer that is not at all distracting. Amazingly warm.

Now the styling: The concept is great, but it required some simple but dramatic alteration to banish my husband's first dreaded comment: "It makes you look fat". Now that's quite an accusation, since I normally wear a size 4-6. But to be fair, I bought the small, which is for size 6-8.

Being enamored of the luxurious yarns, I went to work to make these sweaters work for me. Using my serger to prevent ravelling, I took in the waistband dramatically at the side seams, removing about seven inches at the waist, and tapering the side seams up to the existing armpit seams. Normally, such a dramatic taper would look ridiculous, but this knit is so stretchy, that it now simply conforms to my figure nicely, with the bottom ribbing sitting right at my waist. This made the waistband gap at the waist, so I added an extra hook-and-eye there, which had been graciously included in the "extra buttons" bag.

Finally, I whip-stitched down the back of the collar to keep the seam underneath from peeking out.

Voila! I no longer look fat, and I love the cinched-waist styling.

A good purchase, highly recommended, if you have a serger, or a good tailor at hand.

Read the other comments and since I'm high waisted the length didn't concern me. However, I'm quite tall and have long arms. The picture looked like the sweater had really long arms, but not the case. Had to return it.

About Two Star Dog

Started with hopeful vision, Two Star Dog began when brothers Allan and Steven Boutrous moved to Berkeley in 1992 and began creating jeanswear made of eco-friendly hemp, a resource that can be cultivated with little or no pesticides. Later the company became one of the first in the country to design and market complete sportswear lines made from this fiber. Eventually Two Star Dog broadened to other natural and imported textiles, expanding their production to include men's and women's clothing lines. Even the company's name traces its origins to African tribes who used hemp in their rituals under the canis major and canis minor star constellations. Two Star Dog clothing is available in boutiques and retail stores around the world.
