Two Star Dog Wool Devon Jacket (For Women)

I love the plum color and I like the shape of the jacket. It is lightweight and has a somewhat casual look to it as the edges are a bit unfinished looking (it is boiled wool and the edges are not turned under).

The picture does not show how the sweater/jacket flares out at the bottom.

I actually bought this as a Christmas gift for my petite daughter-in-law. She loved it and may wear it for upcoming job interviews as she's finishing grad school this spring.

The perfect jacket for casual or dressy business wear. The boiled wool keeps you warm in drafty meeting rooms. The cut makes you look professional. The style is comfortable and attractive -- what more could you want?? Two Star Dog does it again.

Lighter weight than boiled wool and cheaply made

The tailoring of this jacket didn't work for my shape at all. I am a pretty average woman, maybe a bit taller than average. It flared out at the hips in a strange way - not flattering Plus, it seemed like it would not wear wear (material a bit flimsy). I don't recommend this jacket.

I'm very short waisted with a generous bust (38D) and wide shoulders -- usually size L or 14. This L jacket fits me to a T and the empire-waist-height seam is very flattering. Nicely finished, light enough to wear indoors, delicious (purple) color. Pockets are big enough to be useful and low-key enough that I wore it with wool pants somewhere fancy.

Jacket was big enough and comfortable through the chest, but too big further down. Made me look heavier than I am.

I love boiled wool jackets--the combination of lightweight and warm, just a bit more casual so that they can go with khakis as well as dress pants. I was a bit disappointed in the way this jacket, which looked like it would so versatile, fit me. First, I like a blazer whose neckline has its first button right between the breasts, and this one meets several inches high. I think that is a less flattering look and also hides the shirt underneath--usually the most colorful piece of the outfit. This jacket also has a flare at the bottom that starts at the ribcage. That design can be quite lovely and flattering, but only if it hugs the body enough to show slimness through the midsection. As it is, the flare begins too high, thus enlarging the waist, and hangs too loosely around the middle, which also visually thickens that part. This is especially bad for someone small-busted like me, who has little up top for contrast. The flare was pronounced enough that it looked more suited to skirts than to pants, and I'd hoped to use it primarily for pants, or have something more versatile. Perhaps this cut would work better on someone bigger-busted, so that they have more built in contrast and would prefer a neckline with more coverage. Hard to know without seeing it modeled on different body types. I was disappointed it didn't work with mine.

I returned the boiled wool Devon jacket because it did not fit me properly and the quality was less than I expected.
