Tested it before our hiking trip to Yosemite (luckily we did not encounter bears on this trip). The cap was easy to remove and spray reached a pretty long distance which I think are top must have requirements for this product.

Though I've never had a reason to discharge them, I have tested them. they project a strong mist about 20' out. STP is selling these with a nylon holster for less than just the can at our local Cabelas. Thanks, STP :-)

I had it attached to my shoulder strap and generally came off quick. Only thing I'd change is maybe put a molle clip on the soft carrier, as my pack didn't have any other way to connect it but a rubber strap
