5.0 out of 5 stars. hard reviewVerified Buyer Reviewed by Daniel from Ohio on Friday, September 25, 2015there were some harsh reviews on this product but I knew someone with one already so I went ahead and purchased it. The first fill of butane it struggled but now it fires up and works just as it should. Maybe just needed time to warm into it. Really pleased now though

1.0 out of 5 stars. does not work at altitudeReviewed by J. Embrey from Denver, Colorado on Wednesday, August 5, 2015I have taken this on three overnight camping trips, and all three times it hasn't worked for me in the mountains, but in Denver it works like a charm. Disappointing at best.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Not StormproofReviewed by In the desert from Utah on Friday, February 20, 2015Went camping in the Uinta mountains a couple weeks ago. Both my brother and I took one of these. They both worked great at home, but not once we reached our yurts. The temp was in the low 20's. They both worked great once we got home again. They did now work after we had left them in the fridge for a bit. Just plan on a warm storm I guess if you want them stormproof. Once warm they worked great in the wind, and the have a fairly decent fuel capacity. Mine stayed dry when I subjected it to water (with the lid clamped closed). They are easy to adjust the flame size as well.

2.0 out of 5 stars. dissappointingReviewed by madcaphorse from NY on Saturday, November 22, 2014I was so hopeful that this brightly colored lighter with high fuel capacity would be awesome. It is not. The lid is attached with a cheap plastic hinge that broke off for no apparent reason. Soon afterwards the lighter died. Made in China. Sad.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Does not light in cold temperatures or at high elevationsReviewed by Tennyson Lee from California on Tuesday, December 24, 2013My friend and I each took this lighter on a snow camping trip to about 6500' elevation with low temps of 23 degrees (F). We had tested both lighters at home (near sea level and at 68F) and both worked flawlessly. At the campsite, neither lighter would light though both were full of fuel and a spark was visible What I got home, one of them lit while the other would not. Fortunately, we had also brought matches. For use while camping, these lighters are completely useless.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Bought Two. Both Broke.Reviewed by WA Kayaker & Hiker from WA on Sunday, August 18, 2013This lighter's O'rings fail, expelling a dangerous butane cloud out from the lighter. The first failed through the bottom refill nozzle's O'ring. The second lighter failed through the lighters top O'ring seal. Neither failure caused an explosion, but the air was filled with flammable gas till the lighters tanks emptied. Looking for a good lighter? Don't bother with this one.
