I got a size bigger as I read the Ulu's run small, but even so they were very tight at the toes. I would have just had them stretched, but the other issue is that the leather portion that comes up from the soles pushes in at the ankle bone and rubs painfully with every step! Disappointed, have some Ulu shoes which I love and fit true to size, not sure why the boots went wrong. (Note: I have wide feet at the toes and narrow ankle so most shoes don't fit me well - except earth, keen)

I ordered these boots after much consideration and browsing and advice asking. I spent most of last winter with cold, wet feet and backside because my cool engineer boots lost their traction and their waterproofedness. I swore to find something practical, warm, and waterproof. I came to these after hearing about them from a friend who lives in Alaska.
They are warm and they are waterproof and they are totally stylish. I love them. With two provisos. First, the lacing is made from some satiny cord that is difficult to tie, and the pom-poms fell off in the first two weeks of wear. I replaced the cord with pom-pom free very thin climbing rope, so it's fine now, but for this much money, I would expect a more substantial cord. Second, the heel cup. It is very stiff, which makes for firm support and it also made for a few days of discomfort as it and my ankle bone made friendly. Now it is fine, but there was a painful breaking-in period, which isn't that unusual for good boots in any case.
That's it. I think even with those two issues the boots are well worth the money and I'd buy another pair if I ever needed to.

Pros:
Good Value, Great style, High Quality
Best Uses:
Winter "uptown" walking
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
A gift for my wife who loves them. Warm, confortable, waterproof and skid resistant. Too early to tell how they will hold up but they are well made & we expect long wear. Only thing we would change is the laces, which seem a bit thin, and the tassels a bit ordinary compared to the rest of the boot.

I love this boot, especially wearing them barefoot. The seam across the top of the boot felt tight at first, but after wearing them for a day the sheepskin compressed a little and they felt fine. The arch support is nice and makes the boot very comtortable. I had many nice comments about them.

Pros:
Great style
Cons:
poor workmanship
Best Uses:
Snowy trips to town
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Love the looks of this boot. Fit is true to size. Poor workmanship at the top fur trim on one boot is a disappointment. The fur at front of the left boot top has been sewn down into the boot and therefore doesn't match the rest of the fur trim. But, I still like the looks and fit of the rest of the boot. Would send it back in a heartbeat except STP is out of my size. So I will keep them because the boots will otherwise suit my purpose to use them for trips to town in bad weather. I just hope that people don't point, stare and laugh at the missing fur trim.
