Haven't gotten to use it yet as it just arrived, but when removing it from the box, the compass fell out of the end.

I do a lot of mountain hiking in the NE part of New Mexico. This hiking staff will come in very handy with its compass on the handle and the knife and saw that quickly change to the removable handle. Love it

Heavy and a little "clunky" even without water bottle in carrier. Knife blade will come out of sheath easily if not secured with tape or in some other way, and does not store with saw blade without moving around in barrel. Would be more secure and store safely if the knife sheath would fit in with saw blade, as much thought went into the sheath and bottle carrier attachement, just not into securing the blade in the sheath. Also no where to store knife blade when using saw blade. Blades are sturdy and sharp and work well in handle. Haven't tried it out on a long hike yet, but still feel it is a good idea to have it with me from a survival standpoint. The storage area in the barrel is very handy for matches and other small items.

I like this product. Its worked great on the hikes I've taken. I did make a minor modification to keep the knife blade in the scabbard while hiking.
