Reviewed by sweetmidge from Ocean Shores, WA on Wednesday, June 12, 2013These canisters are great. As soon as they arrived I used one for fresh grated Italian cheese & it is working just fine. It hasn't gotten soggy or dried out.

Reviewed by chef from florida on Friday, March 15, 2013not air tight. don't empty right. smaller than the company says, which is not sierra tradings fault. I love sierra trading post but this item is terrible. Sorry I have to pay to return them--other products from this manufacturer are supposed to be great but not this one. Stay away.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Lyn from South Carolina on Monday, January 28, 2013used to store peanuts and dried fruit. Container design impedes usefulness. The long cylinder in the middle of each container makes it hard to dispense stored item from the container thru the small lid opening
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Judy from Downingtown, PA on Tuesday, September 4, 2012If you want a true vacuum seal, don't waste your money on these. The rubber lid eventually loses its seal. Also, these don't hold much (less than two cups) but are large to store, owing to the central open shaft. Don't waste the money.
Reviewed by Alice T from NoVA on Monday, September 3, 2012I have the vacu-vin pump for wine, and it is excellent. I thought these might also use the pump, which would be great for walnuts which become rancid quickly with exposure to air. Unfortunately, these don't use the pump: you just push the lid down, leaving some air in the container. Vacu vin does make some containers similar to these that do use the vacuum pump, and they say those are for tea, coffee, and nuts. These they say are for rice and sugar. And as the other reviewer said, the size and shape are not particularly convenient.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by OCULUS from Rensselaer, NY on Thursday, August 23, 2012I keep a lot of nuts and dried fruit around for munching, so I thought these would be ideal; wrong. Pistachios won't fit through the opened neck, nor will other sesame treats, etc. Rice or peas will fit and pour well.
High-grade vinyl tops and good quality plastic bodies, but that shaft in the center limits storage capacity considerably. Bought two sets, returned one for lack of compatibility to my needs.
- Best Uses: Peas rice beans, Small items storage
- Cons: Limited size mouth openin, Limited storage capacity
- Pros: Clever design, High-grade materials, Well Made
