i was looking for a pair of lightweight, unobtrusive hiking shoes. being small, and with very small feet, i find most hiking shoes difficult because their bulkiness makes rocky terrain kind of clumsy. i found what i was looking for in these Vasques! the waterproofing isn't professional quality, but sufficient for day hikes, and i'd probably say the same about the cushioning. but i have a tendency to get sore feet on longer hikes, and these held up just fine. the traction was wonderful; i'm very impressed with the Vibram soles. overall, they suffered a little in muddy, very wet conditions, but so did the shoes of all the other hikers i was with. cleaned up well, still look great!

I bought these shoes for everyday living--driving, shopping, walking in town--not for hiking. I like them for everyday wear but I would not wear them on rough, rocky trails in the mountains. I haven't had them long enough to assess durability but they seem to be sturdy and well-made.

Great travel shoes when you're packing light. Go from trail to airport or museum without looking like hiking shoes. Kind of has a bowling shoe vibe but cuter than that. Fit good right out of the box.

Great shoe like all vasque. No break in period. I needed a lighter weight shoe than the mantra which I also love. This shoe occasionally makes a funny sound at the ball of the foot when walking but doesn't bother me where I am going to where them.

The shoes seem well made, and I'm sure I'll have them for a long time. I like the way they look and feel--they're stylish enough to wear to in-town events. My only complaint is their tread--the rubber soles are fairly thin, with shallow grooves. During a recent hike, they were fine on the flats and fairly slippery on rocky slopes. Not the ideal trail shoe, at least in rocky terrain!

I bought this shoe because it is an in between sneaker and hiking shoe. I really like the look of them. They were very hard to break in, and the bottoms are not cushy at all. Gave me blisters. But after breaking them in I go to work in them-on my feet all day- and they are just fine. A little disappointed in the shoe for what I paid.

Nice for the price. More of a casual shoe. Not enough arch support. Not enough support for long hikes.

The outer layer of suede would not do too well in muddy conditions. Other than that, the shoes look and feel great.
