4.0 out of 5 stars. Strong and SturdyVerified Buyer Reviewed by Catskill Lady from New York on Friday, June 3, 2016I use these shoes to walk a steep hill road. While a bit heavy, they keep the foot stable and there is room in the toe box to handle declines. They appear very well made and I suspect they will last longer than my Chacos which were lighter and prettier but not as strong and sturdy. Worn with a good sock they are quite comfortable with no break in time required. Overall a very good walking shoe at a very good price.

4.0 out of 5 stars. good sturdy bootVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Maine on Tuesday, March 29, 2016Originally, I ordered my normal size 7 and a half med. after reading reviews. I have worn this size shoe for most of my adult life. They arrived in a timely fashion, but they were too short and too narrow. After talking to a pleasant and helpful customer service rep., I ordered size 8 wide which also arrived soon thereafter. And they fit quite well. Either my feet have grown or the sizes have shrunk. I have been wearing them almost every day since receiving them.

5.0 out of 5 stars. My new favorite shoes!!!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from North Carolina on Monday, March 28, 2016Love love love! I've only had them for a week - I wore them to work for a few days, then on a 5 or 6 mile hike in the mountains over the weekend. Perfectly comfortable, sturdy, great nonslip soles. They are true to size. I cannot say enough good about them. I'm wearing them again today even though I bought 4 pairs of shoes from STP, these are too awesome.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Love these shoes so much, I bought a spare pair.Verified Buyer Reviewed by PAS from Texas on Tuesday, March 8, 2016Vasque Mantra 2.0 Low Trail Shoes are comfortable and sturdy. The size is true. I normally wear 7.5 M, and these shoes fit perfectly. They didn't need a break-in period. They were comfy the first time I wore them. I bought my first pair about 4.5 months ago. I just visited New Orleans and walked 20 miles in them without a problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars. A pair that my wife can wear without foot concernsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from San Francisco Bay Area on Tuesday, February 23, 2016My wife bought her first pair of Vasque Mantra early in 2015. She has some foot issues such that Dansko was one of the few shoe makers that she could select from. As we prepared to go on a vacation which involved a lot of city walking, she was looking for a Dansko-alternative so I suggested these Vasque shoes. She loves them and wears them whenever she plans to do extended walking of 30 minutes or more, without concern of foot aches or pains. So she bought this pair to replace her current pair when they wear out. Solidly made shoe.

5.0 out of 5 stars. niceReviewed by Anonymous from PA Wilds on Wednesday, January 27, 2016True to size; I am an 8.5, which was not available, so tried the 9, and had to return because they were simply too long. For those of you who need a narrow heel, rejoice! I did not walk out of these. Subtle color is nice. I could go for a sole that is even stiffer for hiking because I have hallux rigidus, but this is almost stiff enough. Would like to have been able to keep them.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Bad finishing, good heel support but uncomfortably hardVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Florida on Monday, January 25, 2016Pros: Provides good heel support, colors are nice and true to the photos. Fits well according to the size. Cons: Disappointingly bad finishing. Shoes had scratches on them, one particularly prominent (shown in photos). The shoes were supposed to be New in Box (they came in the box). I was expecting a pair of new shoes to have better apprarance. My biggest concerns are two things. One, the vibram soles are solid but seems like they were "just glued in". There is glue residue all over the edges and makes me worry that the soles might get detached soon. Like they fell off and had to be glued to stay put. My other concern is that the shoes are too stiff/hard and makes wearing or walking in them uncomfortable.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Perfect fit the first time!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Texas Gma from TX on Tuesday, January 5, 2016I love this shoe. I needed something tougher than ordinary tennis shoes but didn't want a heavy hiking boot for some local trail blazing. This shoe fit perfect - true to size! It was comfortable from the moment I put it on SO I wore it all day the day it arrived. It comes highly recommended by me; I would give a strong recommendation for this shoe for others to try. The price was a bargain for such a comfortable yet sturdy shoe. No breaking in period was a real surprise and plus!

5.0 out of 5 stars. A comfortable fitVerified Buyer Reviewed by A fun path from Seattle on Saturday, January 2, 2016I use orthotics, so I appreciate that these shoes have a wider width option. For true to size shoes (doesn't seem like many shoemakers are) I would take a size 9 with orthotics a 9.5. I didn't get my size in these, so I don't know If they are true. Since it is winter and I am using thick socks I got size 10 wide. They are a bit roomy, not too roomy, but much better than no room and I can take the extra room up with add on pads if needed. I like these shoes even though they aren't goretex. Aren't super light but not real heavy. And I think the design looks nice, plus the gargoyle (Taupe) is a great color! Good luck with your shoe finding project!

5.0 out of 5 stars. comfortable shoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by A fun path from Seattle on Saturday, December 26, 2015Since I have been using orthotics, I have been finding that the combination of inconsistent sizing and the trend to lower volume shoes a challenge. These shoes are available in a wide width. I usually get 9.5, but got a 10 in these, there is some extra room, but after this recent streak of trying quite a few different shoe styles and makes. I am okay with not a snug fit, I can always add things to take up the roomy parts. And, I can add a thin layer of padding in addition to the orthotics. I have really appreciated reviews during this fairly frustrating search, thank you all who said what size you normally take then what size you got in these shoes. Good luck!
