I normally wear a 9.5 Wide. Since this shoe does not come in wide widths, I ordered a 10M to see how it would fit. I am pleased with the construction and quality of the shoe. The width in the 10M is plenty wide for me, but I was concerned that the toebox seemed it might be a little long. So I ordered a 2nd pair in 9.5M to compare. The width in the 9.5M was a little more narrow than that of the 10M, but I could have made do with them. The issue with the 9.5M was that the heel began to rub after about 15 minutes of only sitting in them - no walking! I returned the 9.5M and began wearing the 10M. I have worn them on several occasions and for many hours at a time. They are quite comfortable and the toebox length does not seem to be an issue for me, even with very thin socks.

First, I will say that these are VERY comfortable supportive shoes which is the reason I am keeping them, BUT, I have to now put up with the loud popping noise that you can hear from both shoes every time I put my foot down in a step. It's quite annoying if I'm walking by myself in the quiet woods but if in a noisy area, I forget about it. I don't know if this is a defect but since I didn't know this until I wore them, I now can't exchange them for another pair because I've worn them outside. Regarding the size, I normally wear an 11.5 to get a perfect fit but these are an 11 and fit great with plenty of toe room.

Purchased these for a winter trip to Minnesota and for everyday winter wear at home in New York. I walk 5 miles a day for exercise and wanted something good for that and for siteseeing in the wet snow.

  • Question “I normally wear an 8 in a Vasque boot. Some reviewers suggest ordering 1/2 up because of Gore-Tex lining. Most others don't mention that. Do you have a recommendation on ordering up with Gore-Tex?”
Asked on 10/6/2012 12:00:00 AM by Ganga from Sedona, AZ
    • Answer I recommend that you order your normal size the Gore-Tex lining should not effect the sizing. I would only size up if I intended to wear heavy hiking socks.
