I got these shoes for everyday use, but didn't realize that they had stealth rubber soles. They are so comfortable I will keep them and use them for back country use. Great foot gear!! Good stability & gription also.

I usually go with Merrel as it just seems to fit my foot the best but I decided to give the Pingoras a try. Some reviewers don't like the lacing system but I find it works well in allowing me to adjust the shoe for my foot. The heel slips a bit more than I would like but overall I am very pleased with the shoe.

I wear these for hiking over the cynder trails near my home as well as for day to day building a new home. They are durable and comfortable as well as completly water proof. Dry feet at the end of the day in the rainy season is rare.

like many trail shoes, these are slightly narrow for me, but other than that they are a great replacement for the Montrail TRS Comps i always wore (and which are no longer available); compared to the TRS Comps, the Pingora are a little narrower in the toe, and less-ventilated, but they look like they'll last longer and be much more winter-worthy; i need a solid footbed and the Pingoras have it, sturdy but comfortable; the sticky rubber is fine on the trail, but we'll see how it lasts on the street; i hope the toe stretches
