Large seams that could cause chafing

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I have a more narrow foot than average and tend to get heel blisters, thus I have to be very picky with my heel comfort. When I first put these on they put an uncomfortable pressure on my heel, this was cause by a large seam inside the shoe. I can't believe companies put a large seam right where your foot will rub! I normally wear a size 8.5, and these felt true to size, maybe a little wide. I can't review any other part because I only walked around the house in them.

These shoes are very attractive, I like them but they are heavy. I got blisters before they were broken in, but they have stretched to fit nicely. I jog in them, they are waterproof.

This is my 3rd pair of Vasque hiking sneakers-and my favorite so far! I have a bit of a wide foot and this brand always fits perfectly. Its so nice knowing your size and such so you can just buy online-the fit never changes! I love these shoes for so many reasons-they're comfortable, their waterproof and they last forever! Last pair I wore almost every day around the city (not just hiking/outdoors) and they still lasted 2 years. I plan on taking better care of these puppies and only wearing them for hiking so they can last even longer! I wore them to work one day to break them in and then hiked in them 2 days straight. First day, my feet were a bit sore but nothing bad-second hike we made it to the top of Mt. Chocorua. Both days had rain and mud and general wetness involved...and sadly both days my whole foot ended up in some sort of river/stream/body of water...but the shoes did well! Until full saturation, my feet stayed dry and cozy-like. Love these shoes and can't wait for them to take me to more summits this summer!

With weak ankles that are prone to twists, trail running is probably not the wisest activity for me. However, this model provides stability that I haven't been able to find in other brands/models. Also use for all day hikes and backpacking. Excellent traction for rock scrambling.
